What better venue to host an event that fuses food and theater than Double Crown, the Bowery restaurant that made its name by fusing the cuisines of the British Empire and Southeast Asia? The next event in the Eating Their Words series, which pairs award-winning playwrights with the city's best chefs for a night of multi-sensory experiences, is a fundraiser for the Chase Brock Experience Dance Company's summer program.
The restaurant's private dining room will play host to three world premier plays by participating playwrights, including Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane, paired with a three course meal created by Double Crown chef de cuisine Christopher Rendell. Between each short play, guests will enjoy food inspired by each performance. A pretty inspired idea, indeed.
