FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rebeck, Keating, Welch will be "Eating Their Words" at Valentine's Day performance

NEW YORK, NY December 8, 2009 – Eating Their Words, the one-of-a-kind company that combines the performing and culinary arts, will reunite with Tocqueville Restaurant for a special Valentine's Day lunch performance. Tocqueville and Eating Their Words' October collaboration was a sold-out success. For this intimate holiday event Tocqueville's Executive Chef and owner, Marco Moreira, joins forces with playwrights Theresa Rebeck (Pulitzer finalist for Mauritius, The Understudy), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Things We Want), and Sam Forman (The Rise and Fall of Annie Hall). The stellar cast features Tony Award nominee Isabel Keating (The Boy from Oz), Christopher Evan Welch (Festen, Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Austin Lysy (An American Plan), and Aya Cash (Killers and Other Family). Founder and Artistic Director, Marlo Hunter, directs. The Sunday, February 14th lunch and performance will begin at 1PM.

Eating Their Words brings together America's most exciting playwrights, the country's most innovative and established chefs, and the finest stage and screen performers for a sophisticated reinvention of "dinner theater". The diner experiences three short plays happening at the table next to them, voyeuristically overhearing a conversation (the short play) taking place over meal. In between each short play, the diners enjoy the sumptuous course inspired by the play they just watched. Under the theme "Food and Romance", Chef Moreira will create an original three-course Valentine's Day lunch menu inspired by Sam Forman's World Premiere play, as well as past Eating Their Words' favorites, Birth Day by Theresa Rebeck, and Appetizer by Jonathan Marc Sherman.

Since its launch in March of 2008, Eating Their Words has commissioned and produced World Premiere plays by playwrights Neil LaBute (reasons to be pretty), Theresa Rebeck (The Understudy), Brooke Berman (A Perfect Couple), Beau Willimon (Farragut North), and Annie Baker (Body Awareness) among many others. This phenomenal work was performed by Tony Award winning actors, and renowned Broadway, film and television artists, in New York's most innovative and respected restaurants.
